| Founded in 2000, the WorldMediaFestival-global competition for modern media has quickly risen to become one of the premier events of its kind, whose awards are highly prized by communications professionals around the world. The intermedia-globe-Gold Award recognizes true excellence in modern media communication.
Experienced professionals from around the world in the field of film and video production, as well as subject matter experts, serve in a volunteer capacity as judges. The criteria they use include writing, sound, editing, creativity, visuals, insights, and above all the extent to which the programme meets its stated goals and communicates with its intended audience
Winners are recognized at the Annual WorldMediaFestival Awards Ceremony, in a two- day event on 9 – 10 May 2006 in Hamburg Germany. Throughout the day of the awards ceremony attendees can view winning programmes, hear professional presentations and meet and discuss their craft with their international peers. The second day culminates in an evening gala, which includes dinner and entertainment in addition to the awards presentation.
The competition attracted entries from the following nations: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Jugoslavia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, USA.
